Men’s Tennis Wins 4-3 against Tennessee State

HUNTSVILLE – The Alabama A&M men's tennis team picked up a victory against visiting Tennessee State on Friday afternoon. The Bulldogs won their third match of the season when they defeated the Tigers by a score of 4-3.

Although Nishangan Nadaraja and Cristian Bigott clinched a 7-5 win on court one for the Bulldogs in the doubles, it wasn't enough as TSU picked up the doubles point over AAMU. Kyle Burton and Tom Vanden Broeck-Parant won 6-1 on court two for the Tigers. Shashank Nautiyal and Jorge Rodriguez clinched the double point for TSU with a 7-5 win on court three.

The Bulldogs won the first three singles matches to take a 3-0 lead over TSU.. In the three single wins, Nadaraja defeated Matthew Brown on a court one by a score of 2-6, 6-4, 6-3. On court two, Mateo Monroy Rueda defeated Rodriguez by a score of 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 before Bigott took a win on court three by a score of 6-0, 6-2. The Tigers would go on to win the next two wins before Joshua Wilson defeated Kato Richardson on court six to secure the win for the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs returns to action at Troy University Saturday at 3 p.m.
