Lady Bulldogs fall to The Citadel 1-0

CHARLESTON, S.C. -- For the second straight game, the Lady Bulldogs defense kept their opponent's offense at bay.

However, also for the second straight game, the Lady Bulldogs were kept off the scoreboard.

A&M dropped a hard-fought, physical 1-0 game at The Citadel on Friday. It was the second straight loss for the Lady Bulldogs to open the season.

Lady Bulldogs goalkeeper Jodi Medina stopped nine shots, yielding the only goal at the 59-minute mark after a scoreless first half.

A&M, though, mustered just one shot on goal for the second straight game. It came off the foot of Alexus Lawson with about 20 minutes on the clock.

The Lady Bulldogs survived a physical Citadel game that had three Citadel players yellow-carded and the hosts collected 21 fouls to 10 for A&M.

A&M returns to action Sunday at USC Upstate. Kickoff is noon Central time.
