HUNTSVILLE -- Alabama A&M's student-athletes put their competitive instincts in action to help provide relief supplies for victims of Hurricane Irma.

Led by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, the Alabama A&M student-athletes had a healthy competition for donations.Â
The volleyball, women's basketball and bowling teams and the Bulldog cheerleaders won their respective groups.
The student-athletes collected bottled water, non-perishable goods, toiletries and other items the Red Cross termed as necessary to assist hurricane victims get back on track.Â
The students' donations will be given to Huntsville's Victory World Outreach church, whose members will travel to Miami to deliver the donations this week.Â
