A&M's Kenneth Davis named SWAC Defensive Player of the Week

BIRMINGHAM -- Alabama A&M's Kenneth Davis has been named the Southwestern Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

In making the announcement Monday, the conference recognized the senior linebacker for his outstanding play against the University of Alabama-Birmingham last Saturday.

A first-team All-SWAC preseason team linebacker, Davis made eight solo tackles with two assisted tackles to go along with several impact plays including two sacks for minus-8 yards and three tackles for loss for minus-9 yards.

The Bulldogs will travel to Nashville to take on Vanderbilt on Saturday. Kickoff is 3 p.m.
