Grambling State edges Alabama A&M in SWAC contest

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Kaylee Holt scored a goal as Grambling State topped Alabama A&M 1-0 Saturday afternoon in a SWAC women's soccer match.

Holt's goal snapped a scoreless tie early in the second half. She scored on assists from Alyssa Ozuna and Brittany Terry.

On a day when shots were at a premium, that goal was enough. Grambling State attempted 12 shots, with eight shots on goal. Alabama A&M attempted seven shots, with six shots on goal.

Jodi Medina finished with seven saves for Alabama A&M (4-10-1, 4-4 in SWAC). Rita Siaha had six saves for Grambling State.

Alabama A&M hosts Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Sunday at 1 p.m. for senior day.
