Rice uses late surge to top Alabama A&M Men's Basketball

Box Score HOUSTON — Ako Adams poured in 22 points as Rice used a second-half scoring run to top Alabama A&M 73-59 Monday night in a men's college basketball game.

Alabama A&M (0-3) kept pace with Rice until the final minutes of regulation. Walter Jones made a free throw with 6:28 remaining to pull the Bulldogs within three points.

But Rice (2-1) used a 15-3 run to close out the game.

Jack Williams and Robert Martin each scored 13 points for Rice.
Jalen Reeder led Alabama A&M with 13 points, while Jones and Arthur Johnson each scored 11.

Alabama A&M travels to BYU on Saturday.
