PINE BLUFF, AR. --- The Alabama A&M University men's basketball team starts this weekend's road trip at Arkansas-Pine Bluff Saturday evening at the H.O. Clemmons Arena.

ALABAMA A&M vs. ARKANSAS-PINE BLUFF
In their first matchup this season, the Bulldogs team overcame a 11-point deficit and two Bulldogs scored in a double figures, but it was not enough as men's basketball fell to Arkansas-Pine Bluff, 69-62, at Elmore Gym on Jan. 6. Marcus Merriweather paced the Bulldogs in the loss with 15 points and Andre Kennedy added 10 points while leading the team with eight rebounds. UAPB's Martaveous McKnight had a game-high 29 points.

ABOUT ALABAMA A&M
Sophomore Evan Wiley tallied a team-high 16 points and Arthur Johnson chipped in 12 points as the Bulldogs (2-20, 2-7 SWAC) fell to the visiting Prairie View A&M Panthers, 88-67, on Monday night at the Elmore Gym. The Bulldogs shot just 35.2 percent (9-for-54) from the field.

Johnson leads the team in scoring with 10 points per game and has 4.7 rebounds per game. De'Ederick Petty is second on the team in scoring with 10 points per game. Julian Walters has a team-best 47 assists and 17 steals.

ABOUT UAPB
The Golden Lions are 8-14 on the year and 8-1 in league play. They are entering Saturday's matchup coming off a 60-58 win against Jackson State Monday evening. Banyard Terrance led the team in the win with 16 points and Charles Jackson has a team-high six rebounds. UAPB is averaging 64.5 points per game and allow opponents 73.2. They are shooting 42.6percent from the field, 33.9 percent from the 3-point line and 68.3 percent from the free throw line.

McKnight leads the team in scoring with 18.7 points per game and leads the team with 72 assist and 37 steals. Jackson is second in scoring with 10 points per game. Travon Harper leads the Golden Lions with 4.7 rebounds per game.
