Men's Basketball drops heartbreaker at Arkansas-Pine Bluff

PINE BLUFF, Ark. — Martaveous McKnight drained a 3-pointer in the final seconds of regulation as Arkansas-Pine Bluff stunned Alabama A&M 50-49 Monday night in a Southwestern Athletic Conference men's basketball game.
Alabama A&M (2-16, 1-3 in SWAC) was on the verge of picking up a significant conference road win.

McKnight crushed the Bulldogs' hopes.

After watching Alabama A&M rally back from a seven-point halftime deficit to take a 49-47 lead in the final seconds of regulation, McKnight rose the challenge, creating his own shot on Arkansas-Pine Bluff's final possession with a step-back move before draining a contested 3-pointer from the wing.

McKnight led Arkansas-Pine Bluff (6-10, 3-0 in SWAC) with 13 points.

Andre Kennedy led Alabama A&M with 19 points and nine rebounds, while Gerron Scissum scored 14 points with nine rebounds.

Alabama A&M hosts rival Alabama State on Saturday in Birmingham at Bill Harris Arena.
