BIRMINGHAM – Prairie View A&M's midfielder Diana Neff, defender Andrea Nugent, and goalkeeper Quinn Josiah along with Alabama A&M's Iris Torres have been recognized by the Southwestern Athletic Conference as Soccer Players of the Week.
Co-Offensive – Neff: The Vista, Calif. native led the Lady Panthers to two victories over the weekend pushing in two goals on nine shots; three of which were on goal.
Co-Offensive – Torres: The Houston, Texas native helped lead Alabama A&M to a second half comeback victory over Howard, 2-1 during the weekend. She also scored the game-tying unassisted on a corner kick early in the second half, and she delivered the assist on Jameela Barrett's go-ahead goal in the 83rd minute.
Defensive – Nugent: The Victorville, Calif. native anchored the Lady Panther's defensively, while taking two shots on goal in shutout victories over both UAPB and Grambling State during the course of the weekend.
Goalkeeper – Josiah: The Newmarket, Ontario, Canada native registered 180 minutes over the weekend, shutting out both UAPB and Grambling State with nine saves. Josiah has shut out four teams in the past two weeks.
