Bentley, Ibrahim, Maynor finalists for FCS Legacy Awards

CHICAGO — Three members of the Alabama A&M football program have been selected as finalists for the STATS FCS Legacy Awards.

Senior running back Jordan Bentley is a finalists for the Walter Payton Award for FCS Offensive Player of the Year, while freshman receiver Abdul-Fatai Ibrahim is a finalist for the Jerry Rice Award for FCS Freshman of the Year. Connell Maynor is a finalists for the Eddie Robinson Award for FCS Coach of the year.

Nominees were pared to finalists for the Walter Payton Award (FCS offensive player of the year), Buck Buchanan Award (FCS defensive player of the year), Jerry Rice Award (FCS freshman player of the year) and Eddie Robinson Award (FCS coach of the year).
 
A national panel of over 150 sports information and media relations directors, broadcasters, writers and other dignitaries will select the winners. Voting is based on the regular season.
 
All four awards and the STATS FCS Doris Robinson Scholar-Athlete of the Year will be celebrated at the STATS FCS Awards Banquet and Presentation, scheduled for Jan. 10 in Frisco, Texas, on the eve of the national championship game.
 
This season, Bentley rushed for 1,483 yards and 18 touchdowns. The senior from Guntersville, Ala. finished his collegiate career with seven different Alabama A&M records.
 
Ibrahim made a significant splash in his Alabama A&M debut, catching 59 passes for 1,004 yards and 11 touchdowns.
