CORAL GABLES, Fla. __ The men's basketball team will face Power Five opponent Miami in the Watsco Center as they begin a four-game stretch to close out the first half of the season. This is the inaugural meeting between these two schools.

About A&M
  • The Bulldogs picked up a 67-62 overtime win last Saturday against Jacksonville State for their second straight win and second at home in T.M. Elmore Gymnasium. Freshman Cameron Alford continued his excellent play, as he led the Bulldogs again with 18 points and eight rebounds in the win.
  • On the season, Alabama A&M is shooting 37.3 percent from the field, 28.2 percent from three-point range and averaging 7.7 steals per game.
  • Three A&M athletes are ranked in the top ten in three-pointers made per game, including TJ Parham ranking fifth (2.0 per game), and Garrett Hicks and Brandon Miller tied for tenth with 1.6 threes per game.
  • Alford is leading the Bulldogs in scoring (14.3) and rebounding (5.6) so far, and has scored in double-digits in six of the seven games this season.
  • The Bulldogs have three scorers in the top-25 of the SWAC in scoring, with Alford being fourth, TJ Parham (10.1) ranked 18th and Garrett Hicks (9.0) ranking 21st.

About Miami
  • Miami comes into this game with a 5-3 record, with losses to conference opponent and fifth ranked Louisville, and on neutral site games against University of Florida and University of Connecticut.
  • The Hurricanes are coming off an 81-79 win on the road at the State Farm Center in Champaign against Illinois as part of the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. Chris Lykes scored a team-high 28 points, while DJ Vasiljevic scored 20, Kameron McGusty added 13 and Sam Waardenburg added 12 in the win.
  • Jim Larrañaga's next victory will be the 650th of his 36-year career as a head coach. He is set to become the 18th active coach with 650 wins, including the 10th at the DI level. 
  • Coach Larrañaga ranks second at Miami with 179 victories and third with a .642 winning percentage. His six 20-winseasons at The U are the most of any coach and a third of the program's total. 
  • Junior guard Chris Lykes is leading Miami in scoring with 14.8 points per contest. Senior guard DJ Vasiljevic (14.6 ppg) and junior guard Kameron McGusty (13.3 ppg) are the only other two Hurricanes averaging double figures.
