PRAIRIE VIEW, Tx. ^__Alabama A&M finished the first conference roundup of the year on a high note as they went 4-1 on the weekend with their lone loss being to Prairie View in five sets.

The Lady Bulldogs (8-11, 4-1 in SWAC) swept Grambling (3-11) in three sets by scores of 25-21, 25-17 and 25-12. Later on in the day, the Bulldogs fell to Prairie View (5-15) in five sets by scores of 20-25, 26-24, 18-25, 25-23 and 15-9. In the final match for Alabama A&M on Sunday, the Bulldogs swept Texas Southern (3-10) by scores of 25-22, 25-23, 25-17 to wrap up the roundup.

AAMU 3, GRAMBLING 0
Senior Terra Brooks led the Bulldogs with nine kills and nine digs in the sweep over Grambling on Saturday morning. Megan Evans had a match-high 28 assists and five digs, while twin sister Maya Evans added seven kills in the win.

The Bulldogs displayed a very balanced attack though in a loss, led by Jayla Norman with her first double-double of the season (13 kills, 10 digs). Terra Brooks and Maya Evans also contributed 12 kills each while Megan Evans registered her sixth double-double of the season with 35 assists and 10 digs.

Junior Maci Battle tallied a team-high 21 digs for the Bulldogs defensively, her third 20+ dig game of the season.

Coach Powell and her squad finished the weekend on a high note with a sweep of Texas Southern to close out the roundup. Maya Evans led the team with 12 kills, while her sister Megan closed out the tournament with a team-high 30 assists. Jayla Norman also added double-digit kills with 10, and Battle led the Bulldogs once again defensively with eight digs.
