DYER, Ind. – Alabama A&M continued their 2021-22 campaign at the competitive Valpo Bowling Classis from October 29-31, finishing 11
th with a 158.9 pin fall average over the course of 12 matches.
The Bulldogs went 5-7 in those qualifying matches, notching a pinfall total of 10,326 in 50 games, putting them in the No.11 matchup on the final day of the tournament.
In that one A&M won 1010-932 to North Central after falling 916-801 to Kentucky Wesleyan and 729- 589 to Elmhurst.
Individually, junior
Nariya Jackson (Fort Wayne, Ind.) finished 14-of-90 with a pinfall average of 183.90 and game-high of 210 while junior
Kelecia Orange (Birmingham, Ala.) was 31
st with an average of 168.00 and a high of 214.
Andreana Jones finished 62
nd having an average of 156.75 with a high of 168.
Next was Jackie Beard in 63
rd with a pinfall average of 150.25 and a high of 170, junior
Montaya Walton (Detroit, Mich.) was behind in 64
th with an average of 148.00 and a high of 167 in her final game to round out the top performers.
A stacked field that featured three nationally ranked programs would see No.18 Lincoln Memorial take home the tournament title with Lewis University second spot and over No.17 Central Missouri while No. 24 Marian took eight place.
Alabama A&M would be the only Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) team invited to take on that field.
The Bulldogs will be right back in action this coming weekend as they head to Houston, Texas for the Track Kat Klash from November 5-7. That tournament will be hosted by Sam Houston and held at the Emerald Bowl.
