HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – After being unable to compete in their first tournament of the season, Alabama A&M men's golf is poised to begin the 2021 campaign at the ASU Spring Kickoff Classic from Sunday, February 21 through Monday, February 22. That tournament will be hosted by Alabama State at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in Prattville, Alabama.
This year's field features seven other teams, including host ASU, Chicago State, DePaul, Evansville, Murray State, Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Western Illinois and will feature 36 holes on February 21 and 18 on February 22.
Representing the Bulldogs will be sophomores
Adric Kimbrough (Nashville, Tenn.) and
Torrance Allen II (Ellenwood, Ga.), senior
Nylan Washington (Decatur, Ga.) and juniors
Jason Johnson (Toledo, Ohio) and
Conner McMillan (Oxford, Ind.).
ABOUT THE COURSE
Located thirteen miles north of Montgomery in Prattville, the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Capitol Hill features three 18-hole championship courses: The Judge, Senator and Legislator. These three special courses offer undulating greens, beautiful scenery and challenging play.
This year's tournament will be contested on The Senator, a links style course that hosted the Yokohama LPGA Classic. A hilly, open layout features over 160 pot bunkers and mounds rising 20-to-40 feet high, providing a secluded setting. It is a par-72 course that plays 6,941 yards from the purple tees and 5,831 yards from the white tees.
