BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Coming off a week in which she put up incredible numbers, Alabama A&M junior forward Dariauna Lewis (Omaha, Neb.) has earned her sixth Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week honor, and fourth this season, as announced by the league on Friday, February 26.
 
Lewis continues to show why she is a legitimate All-American candidate following a two-game stretch in which she averaged 24.5 points, 18.0 rebounds, 1.5 blocks and 1.0 steals while shooting .680 (17-of-25) from the field and 789 (15-of-19) at the foul line.
 
She opened the week at Alcorn State (2/22) and delivered a dominant performance with 25 points on 9-of-12 shooting and hauled in 17 boards (six offensive) to go with a pair of blocks in 42 minutes of work.
 
Lewis produced another incredible performance in a midweek matinee at Southern (2/24), registering 24 points with 19 rebounds (eight offensive) and two steals in a 78-76 victory over the Jaguars.
 
In terms of Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) statistical rankings, Lewis currently leads in rebounding (13.3) and field goal percentage (.597), is second in scoring (16.9) and fourth in blocks (1.9).
 
It marks the sixth time in her brief AAMU career that she has earned SWAC Player of the Week, collecting those honors on November 21, 2019, January 14 and December 2, 2020 and February 2 and 9 of this year.
 
Lewis and the Bulldogs return to action tomorrow, Saturday, February 27 as they host Prairie View A&M. Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m. at Elmore Gymnasium.
