HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Alabama A&M women's basketball junior forward
Dariauna Lewis (Omaha, Neb.) continues to add to her trophy case as she has been named a BOXTOROW First-Team All-American for a second straight year as announced by that organization on Thursday, April 2.
A driving force behind the Bulldogs' success, Lewis started all 17 games while averaging 17.8 points, 13.0 rebounds, 2.1 blocks, and nearly an assist and steal per game. On the year she also shot .604 from the field (122-of-202).
Those efforts have not gone unrecognized prior to this honor as she was named All-Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) First-Team, SWAC Player of the Week four times, the league's Impact Player once and a BOXTOROW National Player of the Week one time during the 2020-21 campaign.
Individually she recorded 14 double-doubles, including nine straight at one point, to go with 12 games of at least 12 rebounds and a 24-point, 19 board effort at Southern (2/24). Lewis has also added a pair of 17 board games, one that went with a season-high 25 points at Alcorn State (2/22) and recorded four games with four blocks.
She would produce an incredible effort in the final game of the season that rivaled those, however, as she scored 21 and yanked down 20 rebounds against Grambling for a 20-20 game.
In terms of SWAC statistical rankings she lead the league in rebounding and field goal percentage and was second in points and third in blocks per game.
On top of that, Lewis is second in the nation in rebounds per game and seventh in field goal percentage.
About BOXTOROW
