HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Continuing the stretch drive, Alabama A&M (4-9-1, 2-3-1 SWAC) comes into their last home games of 2022 as they host Mississippi Valley State (0-11, 0-6 SWAC) in Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) action on Friday, October 20. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m. at Bulldog Field.
A&M comes in with a 1-3-1 record in their last five games, having dropped a 3-1 decision to Texas Southern (9/25), notched a 1-1 tie with Arkansas-Pine Bluff (10/7), fell 2-0 to Grambling (10/9), beat Southern (10/14) 2-0 and fell by that same score at Jackson State (10/16). MVSU comes in having lost 37 straight dating back to September 8, 2019 and most recently fell 10-1 at Arkansas-Pine Bluff (10/16).
Alabama A&M
holds an 8-7-5 advantage in the all-time series dating back to October 13, 2003. They were undefeated over the first seven meetings with three wins and four ties through November 2, 2008. Valley then won the next five from October 26, 2014 through September 22, 2017 and the Bulldogs have won the last three, including 4-1 on September 24, 2021 in the most recent meeting.
This will be the first time the teams have played in Huntsville since September 30, 2018 as a result of scheduling and MVSU not playing during the Spring 2021 pandemic impacted season.
