HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – After 15 games off the schedule, Alabama A&M (4-9-2, 2-3-2 SWAC) is set to close out the home season as they host Alcorn State (4-8-3, 2-3-2 SWAC) in a battle for Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) positioning on Sunday, October 23. Game time is set for 1 p.m. at Bulldog Field with Senior Day festivities set for 11:30 a.m.
It will be a battle of teams that are not only tied for eighth with identical league records and fighting to move up from that eight seed but ones that are seeking goals. Both clubs come in off of ties with the Bulldogs posting a 0-0 deadlock with Mississippi Valley State and Alcorn actually with two ties, 1-1 at Grambling (10/16) and 0-0 at Alabama State (10/21).
A&M holds a
commanding 17-1-2 advantage in the all-time series, including a nine-game win streak that began with the first meeting on October 26, 2003 and stretched through October 31, 2010. Included among those 17 wins is a perfect 10-0 record at Bulldog Field and a current four-game win streak. The latter dates back to September 28, 2018 but each of the last two were narrow 1-0 victories on March 19, 2021 and September 26, 2021.
