HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Alabama A&M (3-7, 1-1 SWAC) begins the stretch drive of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) season as they return home to face Arkansas-Pine Bluff (8-7, 3-1 SWAC) in a key league battle on Friday, October 7. Game time is slated for 3:30 p.m. at Bulldog Field.
A&M comes in having split a pair in Texas as they knocked off Prairie View (9/23) by a 4-1 score before falling 3-1 at Texas Southern (9/25). Meanwhile, UAPB notched a sweep of those same opponents, taking down PVAMU 4-1 (9/30) and TSU (10/2) by a 5-1 margin.
The Bulldogs hold a 10-5-1 advantage in the all-time series, a stretch that includes wins in their last five meetings. That run dates back to a 2-1 victory in Pine Bluff, Arkansas on October 13, 2017 and a matching one the following year on October 21. They then pulled off 4-1 (9/27/19), 2-0 (3/7/21) and 3-1 (10/15/21) decisions. The series itself dates back to October 2, 2005 when A&M delivered an 11-0 drubbing as part of 30 straight goals (10-0 on 10/29/06 and 9-0 on 10/20/07) over the first three meetings.
