HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Holding the No. 6 spot in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) standings, Alabama A&M women's volleyball (7-22, 6-7 SWAC) heads to the Sunshine State to take on Bethune-Cookman (5-20, 5-8 SWAC) and defending league champion Florida A&M (15-11, 12-0 SWAC) on Sunday, November 5 and 6, respectively. First serve for B-CU is set for 11 a.m. with FAMU slated for 5 p.m. Central Standard Time.
 
The Bulldogs nearly swept all three of their matches at the SWAC Round Up last weekend, defeating Alcorn State (10/30) by a 3-1 score and sweeping Southern (10/30) 3-0 before surrendering three straight sets in a 3-2 loss to Texas Southern (10/31).
 
B-CU has dropped five of their last six matches, most recently 3-2 to Grambling (10/31) and 3-1 to Alabama State (11/4) while FAMU comes in riding a 12-match win streak. They last lost on September 18, 3-2 to Alabama-Birmingham, and have posted eight sweeps during that time, including against Alcorn (10/31) last time out.
 
All-time, Bethune-Cookman and A&M are 2-2 with the first of those being a 3-0 Bulldog victory on September 12, 2009 in Montgomery, Alabama. The clubs would then not play again for 12 years until the Wildcats joined the SWAC, that being a 3-0 loss in Daytona Beach, Florida on October 17, 2021. B-CU posted a 3-1 win on November 10, 2021 and the Bulldogs slogged out a 3-2 victory at the Dawg Pound on October 2.
 
The series with FAMU sees Alabama A&M down 3-1 but in a much more recent vintage. The first meeting would be a 3-1 win, also in Montgomery, on August 31, 2019 before the Rattlers claimed a pair of 3-0 victories on October 18 and November 13, 2021. Earlier this year they added a 3-0 sweep on October 3 in Elmore Gymnasium.
