BILOXI, Miss. – Sophomore Felipe Gomez (Bogota, Columbia) finished Day 1 of the 2022 Gulf Coast Collegiate tied for 33-of-75 as Alabama A&M shot a 319-335-654 to finish in 13^th following the first 36 holes on Monday, February 28.
 
Gomez shot a 75-78-153 to lead the Bulldogs while senior Jason Johnson (Toledo, Ohio) finished the opening day tied for 47^th with a 74-84-158.
 
North Alabama leads the field with a 590 with Troy (591), Southeastern Louisiana (593), Incarnate Word (597) and host New Orleans (599) rounding out the top five.
 
Alabama A&M returns to action tomorrow, Tuesday, March 1 for the final 18 holes.
