HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Alabama A&M men's (2-6, 2-1 SWAC) and women's (5-10, 5-2 SWAC) tennis heads an hour and a half north to Nashville, Tennessee as both programs take on Belmont (
M: 7-3, 0-0 C-USA,
W: 6-5, 0-0 C-USA) in non-conference action on Sunday, March 20. First serve for the men is set for 11 a.m. with the women to follow at approximately 3 p.m.
The women come in having dropped back-to-back decisions to Prairie View (3/14) by a 4-1 score and 6-1 to Conference-USA member Western Kentucky (3/17). The men have split their last four, beating Mississippi Valley State (3/11) by a 7-0 score, falling 4-3 to Alcorn State (3/13), blanking PVAMU (3/14) 4-0 and dropping a 7-0 decision at Vanderbilt (3/18).
Belmont's women have alternated wins and losses over their last six outings, most recently falling 6-1 to WKU (3/6) nearly three weeks ago. The Bruins men's team has been on a tear, winning their last four dating back to February 26. In that time they defeated Georgia Southern (7-0 on 2/26), Cumberland (7-0 on 3/4), Bellarmine (7-0 on 3/11) and Dayton (6-1 on 3/17).
