Alabama A&M 2021-22 Season in Review: Women’s Cross Country

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – With the close of the 2021-22 campaign, the Alabama A&M Sports Information Office is producing a Season in Review for each of the program's 16 sports from the past year.
 
That series began and will progress to the winter and spring campaigns. Each week reviews will be released on Mondays and Wednesdays until concluding with the final spring sport on Monday, July 18 and a Department Season in Review on Wednesday, July 20. Today we take a look back at the 2021 Women's Cross Country season.

2021 Season in Review
  • Finished 6-of-12 at the 2021 SWAC Cross Country Championships (10/18)
  • Had three Top-20 team finishes at the Montevallo 2021 Falcon Classic (9/17)
  • Finished 7-of-13 at the North Alabama Invitational (10/10)
 Individual Achievements/Honors
  • Sabria Wooten placed 12-of-72 in a time of 19:47.47 at the 2021 SWAC Championships (10/18). Aneisha Ingram notched 14th spot stopping the clock at 20:01.39 to help lead the Bulldogs to a 6-of 12 overall finish.
  • Wooten had a stellar performance at the Montevallo Falcon Classic (9/17), finishing 13-of-77 in a time of 21:09.70 and Ingram came in three spots behind, crossing the line in 21:43.10. Taylor Wingo notched 19th place in a time of 22:02.90.
  • At the highly competitive UAH Invitational (10/9) Wooten added a 167-of-292 finish in 20:08.46.
  • Ingram delivered a 56-of-106 performance at North Alabama (9/10).
