Kim Notches Eighth Place Finish as Alabama A&M Wraps Up PGA Works Collegiate Championship

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Showing a consistent improvement throughout the three days, freshman BK Kim (Won Ju, South Korea) led Alabama A&M men's golf as they closed out the 2022 PGA Works Collegiate Championship on Wednesday, May 4. As a program the Bulldogs finished in 10th with a 315-319-298-932.

Kim climbed from 14th to 11th to an eighth place finish out of the field of 50 competitors, shooting a 74-74-72-220 to lead A&M. While the freshman's overall performance was impressive, senior Jason Johnson (Toledo, Ohio) delivered the third lowest score of the round with a two-under Par 70. He finished tied for 24th with an 80-80-70-230 to round out the top performances.

Howard pulled out a narrow one stroke victory with a score of 882, just ahead of Chicago State (883) while Arkansas-Pine Bluff (894), Alabama State (894) and Florida A&M (596) rounded out the top five.

Alabama A&M has now closed out a 2021-22 campaign that featured 11 tournaments, the program's first All-Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) selection in eight years and a berth in the PGA Collegiate Championship, which took just 10 Division I teams nationally.
