KILLEN, Ala. | Samuel Boddie and Kourey Patterson paced the Alabama A&M University men's golf team during Tuesday's final round of the MartinFed Invitational, hosted by the University of North Alabama, at the Turtle Point Yacht & Country Club.
Boddie fired a final-round 77 to finish the three-day tournament with a 228 as he claimed 54th. Patterson ended the third round with a 79 and carded a 233 to finish 58th. Niall Bagnall finished tied for 60th with a 236, followed by Fabian Sanchez Torres (249) and Emilio Angel (255).
Alabama A&M claimed 11th with a 943. North Alabama fired a 20-under-par 844, including a final round 3 under, while Auburn recorded an 18-under-par 846 to earn a share of the team championship. Purdue Fort Wayne (858) was third, followed by North Alabama "B" team (859), Troy (863), Southeastern Louisiana (875), Samford (881), Rollins College (882), Lindenwood (883) and Western Illinois (902).
Alabama's JP Cave was the individual medalist, shooting a 15-under-par 201, including 4 under during Tuesday's final round. Troy's Lee Poppell placed second at 204.
Alabama A&M returns to action by hosting the Alabama A&M Fall Classic Oct. 23-24 at the Hampton Cove RTJ.
