BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Alabama A&M University senior guard
Dailin Smith was selected the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Smith, who has led the Bulldogs in scoring in six games this season, garnered the award after averaging 23.0 points and 3.0 rebounds per game against UAB and Chattanooga. The Colorado Springs, Colo. native shot 58.3 percent (14-of-24) from the floor and 84.2 percent (16-of-19 from the foul line in a pair of losses.
Smith poured in a career-high 27 points, on 8-of-14 shooting and 9-of-10 from the free-throw line, along with four rebounds and one steal in a 93-82 loss to UAB last Wednesday.
Jackson State's Jordan O'Neal was selected the SWAC Impact Player of the Week.
Alabama A&M (1-10) returns to action on Thursday night at South Alabama. Tip-off against the Jaguars is set for 7 p.m. from the Mitchell Center and streamed on ESPN+.
