AAMU Basketball to Host Tip-Off Social

THE HILL | The Alabama A&M University head men's and women's basketball coaches will host a Tip-Off Social at 5 p.m. on Friday inside the Ernest L. Knight Center.

The event is free and open to the public.

This will be a great opportunity to meet the basketball coaching staffs and teams ahead of the exciting upcoming season, which features 32 games inside the AAMU Event Center.

Doors open at 5 p.m. with an introduction of the staff and players at 6 p.m. Following the introduction of the teams, Thai Floyd will serve as the emcee and welcome Donte' Jackson and Dawn Thornton for an opportunity to get to know the head men's and women's basketball coaches.

The Alabama A&M men's basketball team will have a pair of exhibition games in October, starting on the 13th with the Ballin in Boutwell matchup against Samford, followed by a contest on Oct. 27, hosting UAH in the return of the Mayor's Cup.

The Bulldogs begin the regular season on Nov. 3 with their home opener, playing host to Blue Mountain Christian. AAMU takes to the road just two days later (Nov. 5), visiting Big Ten foe Indiana.

The Alabama A&M women's basketball program, coming off a historic season that saw the Bulldogs win 21 games for the first time during the Division I era, will look to repeat the success from a year ago.

Alabama A&M begins the season with an exhibition game, playing host to UAH in the return of the Mayor's Cup. The regular tips off with back-to-back home games, starting on Nov. 5 against Talladega. For the second consecutive season, AAMU will welcome an SEC opponent to the Event Center as Ole Miss comes to The Hill on Nov. 7.
