NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Alabama A&M men's tennis dropped a 5-1 match on the road against Tennessee State on Thursday afternoon in non-conference play, ending a three-game win streak from the Bulldogs.
Tennessee State was the victor in doubles, as
Chetanna Amadike and
Yin Chih Lan fell 6-4 to Taj Hibbert and Daniel Caraballo, followed by a 6-2 loss by
Divesh Gahlot and
German Ruiz Crespo. The pairing of
Vence N'Tcha and
Arnav Pathange were unfinished, trailing 5-2.
The momentum continued into singles play, with Gahlot falling to Caraballo first on court three 6-3, 6-2, before Pathange earned the point for A&M, defeating Copin 6-3, 6-1.
Lan and
Freddie Lawrence were the next two to finish, both falling in straight sets on courts two and six respectively, while N'Tcha fell 6-4, 6-3 to conclude the match.
The Bulldogs will return to action on Sunday, March 19 against UAB in another road non-conference match. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
