BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ^__ The league office released the bracket for the 2023 Cricket Wireless SWAC Men's Basketball Tournament presented by Starry seedings, and No. 5 Alabama A&M will prepare to battle No. 4 Southern on Thursday, March 9, at Bartow Arena.

The Bulldogs (14-17, 10-8 SWAC) are slated to compete at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Thursday night in the tourney's fourth and final game of the quarterfinal round, with games being broadcast on the SWAC Digital Network.
 
Alabama A&M swept the season series against Southern for the first time since the 2010-11 season, as the Bulldogs defeated the Jaguars on February 4 in Huntsville 82-61, while concluding the regular season with a 68-65 victory at Southern on Saturday evening.
 
A&M will be competing for their first SWAC Tournament crown since 2006, coming in as the No. 5 seed for the second consecutive year. This marks the fourth straight appearance for the tournament in Bartow Arena after it previously was held in the Bill Harris Arena in 2019, also in Birmingham.
