Jackson, Miss. __ Alabama A&M junior
Felipe Gomez Lopez shot a four-over 148, which featured a pair of 74 scores, to lead the Bulldogs through two rounds of the SWAC Golf Championships at The Refuge in Jackson, Mississippi.
As a team, A&M sits in fifth place with a score of 599 (+23) through two days. The Bulldogs shot a 302 (+14) in round one, followed by a 297 (+9) on Tuesday and are currently just nine shots back of second place.
Gomez Lopez's performance puts him in the top 10 individually in a tie for seventh.
Niall Bagnall and
Kim Byeongkwan have also played well through two days, seeing the two golfers head into the final day in a five-way tie for ninth. Bagnall followed a day one 76 (+4) with a 73 (+1) day two score to end at a total of 149, while Beyongkwan posted scores of 75 (+3) and 74 (+2).
Jason Johnson was the final Bulldog on the main leaderboard following day two, at 26th. The graduate student shot a 77 (+5) on Monday, followed by a 76 (+4) on Tuesday for a total of 153 (+9).
Alabama A&M will enter the third round on Wednesday, looking to make a move up the standings in the final stretch.
