BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – A trio of Bulldogs on the Alabama A&M men's tennis program earned All-SWAC honors as voted on by the league's coaches and sports information directors, highlighted by
Chetanna Amadike being named SWAC Freshman of the Year.
Amadike, from Calgary, Canada posted a 6-4 singles record, going 2-1 at the No. 3 spot and 4-3 at the No. 4 spot this season. He also went 2-0 in SWAC play and has won four straight completed matches heading into the postseason. Paired in doubles with
Yin Chih Lan, Amadike was 4-5Â overall and 2-1 against SWAC opponents.
Divesh Gahlot and
Arnav Pathange also earned conference honors, with Gahlot being named to the All-SWAC First Team at the No. 3 singles, the second straight year the Bulldogs have had a first team member. Meanwhile, Pathange earned Second Team honors, with a 4-6 overall record and 2-0 mark in conference play.

The trio of Bulldogs and their team will travel to New Orleans, Louisiana this weekend for the SWAC Tennis Tournament, held at the City Park Tennis Center.
