BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) announced its 2026 men's tennis Tournament seedings where Alabama A&M University Men's Tennis team (8-11, 5-0 SWAC) claimed the No. 1 seed and has earned a first round bye and is able to advance to the semifinals round.
The Bulldogs have dropped zero conference matches this season, securing a 4-1 sweep over Jackson State, who earned the No. 3 seed heading into the tournament. AAMU additionally blanked Alabama State, Southern, Mississippi Valley and Alcorn State in conference play.Â
The Bulldogs will play the winner of the Southern and Mississippi Valley (which will be played Friday at 5 p.m.) on Saturday at 2 p.m.
Alabama State claimed the No. 2 seed (4-1, SWAC) in the tournament followed by No. 4 seed Southern (2-2, SWAC). Alcorn (1-4, SWAC) and Mississippi Valley (0-5, SWAC) claimed the final two tournament bids and will enter the tournament as the No. 5 and No. 6 seeds respectively.Â
The 2026 SWAC Men's Tennis Tournament is scheduled to be played on April 17-19th at City Park Tennis Center located in New Orleans, La. The quarterfinals round will begin on Friday, April 19th at 5:00 pm CST.Â
