BESSEMER, Ala. __ Alabama A&M men's golf notched the third-best round two in the field with a 3-over to climb one spot up the 14-team
leaderboard. The Bulldogs are currently second place in the field, trailing Howard by eight strokes.
Kim Byeongkwan led the way again for the Bulldogs, moving up two spots for sole possession of sixth place heading into the final round of play, while
Niall Bagnall,
Jason Johnson, and Felipe Gomez all landing in the top 20 on the individual leaderboard following round two on Tuesday at the PGA Works Championship at the Shoals Creek Club.
Following up his even-par outing during round one, Byeongkwan posted a 3-under 68 on Tuesday, accounting for a shot total of 140 through 36 holes and moved up two spots on the leaderboard for sixth. The sophomore trails the leader by just four strokes entering Wednesday.
In addition to the stellar play from Byeongkwan, Bagnall moved up 3 spots in round two with a 1-over 73 for a 149 total. The freshman has recorded 19 pars and six birdies on his way to land tied for 14th overall. Teammmate
Jason Johnson is tied with Bagnall at 14, shooting a 3-over 75 on day two, also ending the day with a 149 total that includes 27 pars and three birdies.
Giving the Bulldogs their fourth and fifth counting rounds of the day were
Felipe Gomez Lopez and
Fabian Sanchez Torres. Gomez Lopez sits tied for 18th heading into the final day of play after shooting a 72 on Tuesday to go up four spots, while Sanchez Torres shot an 84 in his first action of the week.
Live scoring will continue to be available during the final round of play on Wednesday, while the competition will also air on the Golf Channel at 4:30 p.m.
