THE HILL | Senior Fatima Ramirez led the Bulldogs both offensively and defensively, notching 11 kills, 12 digs, two assists, one block and one service ace in the 3-0 victory over the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils on Monday night.  

Following just behind Ramirez was Saldy Amparo-Smith, who recorded 10 terminations, seven digs and two solo blocks. Laela price tallied 13 assists on the night, and led both teams in service aces, with three. The Bulldogs held MVSU to just a .073 hitting percentage on the night and forced four Devilettes into a negative percentage. The Bulldogs, however, hit at a .240%. The Bulldogs now lead in the all-time series with Valley State 34-4.  

Mississippi Valley State was paced by Alaya Rhodes, who recorded nine terminations and dig 11 balls. Sasha Mathis and Lyric Edwards both hit at a .200% and accounted for seven points. Mikayla tallied the most assists for the Devilettes, with 23.  

Though both teams recorded 46 digs during the match, the Bulldogs tallied three more blocks, 10 more kills, and 13 less errors than the Delta Devils. The Maroon and White also doubled the amount of service aces that MVSU had.  

AAMU returns to play on Friday when it hosts in-state rival Alabama State in Elmore Gymnasium at 7 p.m. (CT). The match is free, and fans are encouraged to wear black for a Blackout.
