Box Score MONTGOMERY, Ala. | A balanced Bulldog effort would not be enough, as the Alabama A&M volleyball team (5-15, 3-5 SWAC) fell 3-2 to Alabama State (8-13, 5-3 SWAC) on Wednesday afternoon.
The Bulldogs saw three players with at least 13 kills, paced by senior Fatima Ramirez, who notched 17 terminations, eight digs, two blocks and two service aces. Saldy Amparo-Smith would follow just behind her with a double-double, notching 16 kills and a team high 16 digs, in addition to three service aces and two blocks. Junior Bailey Duckett terminated 13 balls of her own.
Saniya Spalding and Nissan Martinez led the Maroon and White defense, tallying five and four blocks respectively. Grace Tapscott recorded 27 assists and a team-high five aces.
The Hornets saw three players with at least 10 kills, paced by Jyriah Morgan's 17 terminations, Kamrynn Clay tallied 28 assists, while Lyndsay Harris recorded five service aces.
The Bulldogs look to travel to the Lone Star state for their Texas swing, playing Texas Southern on Oct. 28 at 6pm, and Prairie View A&M University on Oct. 28.
