HOUSTON | Huntsville native Bailey Duckett tallied a season-high 16 kills in the Bulldogs' 3-2 loss to the Texas Southern Tigers on Monday night.
The junior added three blocks and six digs to round out the match. Michell Jerez notched 16 digs and four service aces on the night. Senior Fatima Ramirez recorded 14 kills, 12 digs and 2 service aces, while Saniya Spalding led the Bulldog defense with six blocks. The Maroon and White had its best hitting percentage in the second set, hitting a .206%, and held the Tigers to a negative percentage (-.081%) in the fourth set.
TSU's attack was led by both Kennedy Reed and Keldri Young, both notching 10 kills. Ava ray totaled 23 assists, while Angelika Rusin tallied 26 digs. The Bulldogs still lead 13-8 in the all-time series with the Tigers.
AAMU take to the court again on Tuesday, facing the Panthers of Prairie View A&M. First serve is set for 6:30 pm and can be live streamed here.
