HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | The Alabama A&M University baseball team saw its 2024 home opener spoiled on Tuesday afternoon as Tennessee Tech defeated the Bulldogs, 10-0, in seven innings at the Bulldog Baseball Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Tennessee Tech (3-1) took advantage of an error in the top of the second inning as the Golden Eagles. Jumped out to a 7-0 lead.
The Golden Eagles added to the lead with two more runs in the third and one more in the fifth for the 10-0 advantage.
GAME NOTES
- Alabama A&M finished with one hits, committed three errors and stranded one on base
- Jesus Rivera went 1-for-2 at the plate to pace the Bulldogs (1-3)
- Roman Sorrell (0-1) took the loss, giving up seven runs (two earned) on five hits, with four walks and three strikeouts
- Charlie Lazo and Ryan Jones saw action in relief
- Tennessee Tech finished with 10 runs on 10 hits, committed one error and left eight on base
- Hayden Gilliland led the Golden Eagles by going 4-for-4, with two RBI and two runs scored
- Eli Huddleston started for TTU by working three innings and striking out one
- Juan Vargas, Brody Lanham and Nick Vaccaro worked in relief
