THE HILL | Alabama A&M University baseball has once again demonstrated its commitment to excellence both on the field and in the classroom as more than 800 member high schools and college programs nationwide received the 2025-26 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award, presented by Sports Attack, on Wednesday.
 
The Bulldogs, who were one of three Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) programs to receive the academic award, were among collegiate programs across the country recognized for posting a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher during the 2025-26 academic year, meeting the standard established by the ABCA to receive the prestigious honor.
 
"This recognition reflects the discipline, commitment and character of our student-athletes," said Alabama A&M head baseball coach Louis Whitlow. "We challenge our players to pursue excellence in every area of their lives, and this award is a testament to the hard work they put into the classroom while competing at a high level on the baseball field. I am proud of what this team has accomplished academically."
 
The ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award, established in 2016, honors collegiate and high school baseball programs that excel in the classroom. Programs from all levels of college baseball—including NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA and junior colleges—are recognized annually for their academic achievement.
 
The honor continues Alabama A&M's commitment to developing well-rounded student-athletes who excel academically, athletically and within the community. The Bulldogs' success in the classroom reflects the dedication of the team's student-athletes, coaching staff, academic support personnel and the University's commitment to educational excellence.
