BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Alabama A&M University junior guard/forward Lorenzo Downey was selected to the 2024 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Men's Basketball All-Tournament Team, the conference announced after the conclusion of Saturday's championship game.
 
Downey averaged 28.9 minutes as Alabama A&M reached the SWAC Men's Basketball Tournament Semifinals. He poured in 16 points, including going 4-for-5 from long range, in Alabama A&M's upset win over No. 2 seed Alcorn State on Wednesday. In the two tournament games, the Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada native averaged 16.5 points, while shooting 66.7 percent (8-of-12) from the floor and 77.8 percent (7-of-9) from behind the 3-point line. In addition, he shot 83.3 percent from the foul line and averaged 4.5 boards per game.
 
Joining Downey on the men's all-tournament team was Derrick Carter-Hollinger Jr. (Bethune-Cookman), Jonathan Cisse (Texas Southern), Kintavious Dozier (Grambling State) and MVP Tra'Michael Moton (Grambling State).
