NEW ORLEANS, La. | Tristan Curless belted a two-run homer to give the Alabama A&M University baseball team a one-run lead in the top of the seventh inning but the Bulldogs could not hold on in a 4-2 loss to New Orleans on Saturday at Maestri Field.
Alabama A&M (2-8) trailed 1-0 after the first inning but Curless' two-run shot gave the Bulldogs a 2-1 advantage in the top of the seventh. New Orleans grabbed a 3-2 lead with two runs in the bottom of the frame.
HOW IT HAPPENED
New Orleans (6-4) plated one run in the bottom of the first inning on two hits to grab a 1-0 lead.
Alabama A&M answered with two runs on three hits in the sixth to grab a 2-1 advantage.
Alex Diaz opened the frame with a base hit to right and came home when
Tristan Curless smacked a homer to left.
The Privateers answered in the bottom of the frame with two runs on two hits and took advantage of an error to take a 3-2 lead.
New Orleans added a run in the seventh and Alabama A&M could not rally in dropping the road game.
