CHARLESTON, S.C. | Jasmine Perez-Acosta netted an early goal for the Alabama A&M University women's soccer team, but the Bulldogs surrendered two first-half goals in falling, 2-1, to Charleston Southern on Saturday at the CSU Soccer Field.
 
Alabama A&M (2-7) opened the scoring in the fourth minute when Perez-Acosta found the back of the net off an assist by Alicia Cohen as the Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead.
 
However, Charleston Southern (3-3-2) tied the game at 1 on a penalty kick by Daniela Contreras in the 28^th minutes.
 
The score remained 1-1 until the 41^st minute as Kyia Tucker and Gianna Simon assisted on Danika Birch's goal as the Bucs grabbed a 2-1 advantage.

• Liliana Ribeiro finished with six saves for AAMU
• Jenna Moran registered five saves for CSU
• Alabama A&M recorded 13 shots, with six on target
• Charleston Southern tallied 17 shots, including eight on goal
• The Bucs held a 10-6 advantage in corner kicks
