THE HILL | The Alabama A&M University women's volleyball team (2-2) are set to travel to College Park, Md to compete in the Maryland Invitational on September 6th and 7th.  

AAMU is coming off its 2-1 home opening weekend where they hosted the Betty K. Austin Invitational, claiming wins over Idaho and Oral Roberts, but falling to UT Chattanooga. The Bulldogs dropped their match against the North Alabama Lions on Tuesday in Florence, Ala.  

The Bulldogs will first take on the Georgetown Hoyas (1-2) on Friday at 10 am (CT) at the XFINITY Center Pavilion. The Hoyas opened their season at the D.C. Challenge, where they secured a win against Riverside, but fell to American University and Howard University. Georgetown was ranked No. 10 in the BIG EAST preseason coaches' poll, receiving 27 votes. The Bulldogs and Hoyas have met just once before in 2018, when the Hoyas took the match 3-1.  

At 6 pm, AAMU will take on the host team, Maryland (1-2), for their second match of the Invitational. The Terrapins sit at 1-2 in their first three matches, claiming a 3-0 victory over Troy, but dropping their match over LSU and New Hampshire. This will be the first time the Bulldogs and Terps will play each other. Both of Friday's matches will be live streamed on B1G+. Tickets are $10.  

AAMU will finish their weekend road swing in a face off against American University (5-0) on Saturday morning at 10 am (CT) at Bender Arena. Tickets are $8.  Through five matches, AU is unbeaten and has swept three of its opponents. It will be the first matchup with AAMU in program history. The match can be live streamed on ESPN+.
