Box Score HUNTSVILLE, Ala | After an almost two-hour singles session, the Alabama A&M men's tennis team ultimately dropped a 7-0 decision to the Samford Bulldogs on Sunday afternoon.
AAMU only saw action on two courts during doubles play, allowing the visitors to quickly gain the point, winning 6-4 and 6-2 on the opening courts.
Samford used that momentum to take courts four and five. Yin Chih Lan dropped the first set, 6-2, against Hayden Menon, but jumped to a 5-3 lead in the second frame, but ultimately dropped the set, 6-4 to give Samford the match victory.
Both teams elected to play out, and after a battle, SU claimed the first court to put them ahead 5-0. With all the attention on court three, Goran won the first set in a tight 7-5 tilt. J.B. Pickard, forced to rise to the occasion, leveled the frame, winning the second set 6-2. With both teams wanting a win, the battle to an 10-8 final score that ended in favor of Pickard.
