CARY, N.C. | Vicente Rodriguez entered Sunday's final round four shots back of the leader and could not recover after carding a 6-over-par 76 as the Alabama A&M University men's golf team wrapped up its weekend finishing fifth at the SAS HBCU Invitational at the Prestonwood Country Club.
Rodriguez concluded the weekend at 5-over-par 215 to pace the Bulldogs.
Lukas Lange and
Samuel Boddie finished tied for 15
th with 222s. Lange shot a final-round 2-over-par 72, while Boddie was 1 over for the final round.
James Fujita was tied for 23
rd, shooting a 232 and
Kourey Patterson wrapped up the individual scoring with a 235.
North Carolina A&T State's Emilio Hernandez was the individual medalist, shooting a 5-under-par 205.
Alabama A&M shot an 889 for the three rounds, finishing fifth as North Carolina A&T won the team title with a 4-over-par 844. Arkansas-Pine Bluff was second with an 875, while North Carolina Central (877) and Texas Southern (880) were third and fourth. Southern rounded out the field with an 892.
