THE HILL | Czaske Deane scored two first-half goals as the Alabama A&M University women's soccer team got back into the win column on Sunday with a 5-0 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) victory over Prairie View A&M at the Bulldog Soccer Field.
Alabama A&M (6-8-0 overall, 3-2 SWAC) got the opening goal in the eighth minute when
Ryan McLemore assisted on Deane's goal, giving the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead. The scoring didn't stop there as Deane again found the back of the net in the 24
th minute, pushing the advantage to 2-0.
The Bulldogs tacked on another goal right before the break as
Kya Jacobs broke free down the right side and fired a shot past PVAMU goalkeeper Nenah Jackson, giving AAMU a commanding 3-0 lead.
AAMU added to the lead in the 83
rd minute when
Albany Rios scored on a penalty kick and McLemore put the finishing touches on the scoring in the 86
th minute.
