THE HILL | The Alabama A&M University women's soccer team used a dominating first half to roll past Alabama State, 4-2, on Senior Day in a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) match at the Bulldog Soccer Field on Friday afternoon.
Czaske Deane, who is among the leaders in the country in goals scored, wasted little time giving Alabama A&M the quick 1-0 lead with a goal, off an assist from
Anita Frederick-Sigaran, just eight minutes into the game.
The Bulldogs (8-8-1 overall, 5-2-1 SWAC) doubled the lead to 2-0 as Sigaran assisted on
Brea Bailey's goal in the 24
th minute and
Charlotte Cuthbertson found the back of the four minutes later giving AAMU the 3-0 lead.
Cuthbertson wasn't done just yet, scoring off another assist from Sigaran, in the 33
rd minute as Alabama A&M built a 4-0 lead.
Alabama State (2-16-1, 1-7-0) closed the gap to 4-1 right before the half as Serenity Safeeullah scored and the Hornets added another goal three minutes into the second half as Adriana Gallucci assisted on Jordan Williams' goal to cut the deficit to 4-2.
However, that would be as close as Alabama State would get as the Bulldogs ended the regular season with a victory over the rival Hornets.
