THE HILL | Alabama A&M University head track and field coach
Andrew Murphy announced on Thursday the Bulldogs' 2026 schedule, a balanced indoor and outdoor slate designed to prepare the program for championship competition while continuing to build momentum within the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC).
"This schedule gives us exactly what we need—strong competition, familiar facilities and opportunities to challenge our athletes early," Murphy said. "Our goal is to be at our best when it matters most, and this lineup allows us to build toward the postseason with confidence."
Alabama A&M opens the indoor season in Birmingham, Ala., competing in the Vulcan Invitational on Jan. 11. The Bulldogs will travel to Nashville, Tenn., for the Vanderbilt Invitational (Jan. 16–17) before closing the month at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational in Louisville, Ky., on Jan. 30–31.
The indoor regular season concludes with the South Alabama Invitational on Feb. 1 in Birmingham, followed by the SWAC Indoor Championships (Feb. 21–22).
The outdoor slate begins March 13 at the Falcon Classic & Multi in Montevallo, Ala.
Alabama A&M will compete at the USF Alumni Invitational (March 20–21) and return to Birmingham for the UAB Spring Invite (March 27–28).
The Bulldogs will have a trip to Knoxville, Tenn. for the Tennessee Invitational (April 10–11) before heading to Atlanta, Ga, for the Georgia Tech Invitational (April 17–18). AAMU will compete at the Music City Invitational (May 1-2) before concluding with the annual SWAC Outdoor Championships in Baton Rouge, La. (May 10-12).
"We're excited about the progression from indoor to outdoor," Murphy said. "Every meet is an opportunity to grow, compete and represent Alabama A&M at a high level."
Athletes qualifying for postseason competition will advance to the NCAA East First Round from May 27–30 in Lexington, Ky., with the NCAA Outdoor Championships set for June 10–13 in Eugene, Ore.
