Walker Set to Represent AAMU at NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships

THE HILL | Alabama A&M University junior Justin Walker will represent the Bulldogs on the national stage this week as he competes in the men's long jump at the 2026 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.

Walker, who is set to compete at 8:40 p.m. (CT) on Wednesday, earned his place among the nation's elite after posting a personal-best mark and school record of 7.67 meters (25 feet, 2 inches) at the NCAA East First Round in Lexington, Ky. His jump placed 12th overall and secured the final qualifying position for the NCAA Championships.

"I am excited about the opportunity to represent the school on the national stage," Walker said. "I am looking forward to competing against the best of the best this week."

The Birmingham, Ala. native has enjoyed a breakthrough season for the Maroon and White. Walker consistently ranked among the Southwestern Athletic Conference's (SWAC) top performers in the long jump and capped his postseason run with the best jump of his collegiate career when the stakes were highest.

His qualifying mark of 7.67m currently stands as a personal best and ranks among the top performances in program history.

The men's long jump competition is scheduled to take place during the opening day of competition at 8:40 p.m. (CT) on Wednesday at historic Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon.
