BATON ROUGE, La. | The Alabama A&M University women's outdoor track & field team sits in second place after two days at the 2026 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Monday night at A.W. Munford Stadium.

The Bulldogs have recorded 42 points and is in second place by 10 points, while Southern leads the 12-team field with 53.5 points.

The biggest highlight for Alabama A&M came in the 3000m steeplechase where Alabama A&M won gold and silver to bring home 18 points. Saynae Gibson, the school record holder in the event, posted a time of 11:21.27, to win the event, while teammate Nevaeh Carrizal registered a personal-best time of 11:45.32 to claim second.

WOMEN'S TRACK
- Amya Joy captured the bronze medal in the heptathlon, recording 4,483 points. She won the high jump, with a personal-best distance of 1.61m, while finishing second in the 800m, third in the long jump, fourth in the shot put, fifth in the javelin and seventh in the 200m
- The Bulldogs went 1-2 in qualifying for the 400m finals as Alisha Wilson placed first, qualifying with a time of 54.20, while Laila Gaynor was second in 54.38
- Brianna Samuels advanced to the finals in the 800m, running a time of 2:13.32 to qualify fourth
