BATON ROUGE, La. | The Alabama A&M University men's and women's track & field teams wrapped up the season on Tuesday in the 2026 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships at A.W. Munford Stadium.

The Alabama A&M women placed fourth with 93 points, narrowly missing the third spot by 2.5 points. The Bulldog men finished eighth with 52 points.

On the women's side, Alabama A&M won the gold and silver in the 400m as
Alisha Wilson ran a personal-best time of 53.26 to capture first and
Laila Gaynor was second, posting a season-best time of 53.27.

Laura Avila and Saynae Gibson captured the gold and bronze, respectively, in the 5000m. Avila nearly led from start to finish in the event, crossing the line with a time of 18:20.40, while Gibson, who recorded 24 points through three events, finished 21 seconds behind Avila, with a time of 18:41.91.

On the men's side,
Joe Quez Keith just missed the school record in the 400m in winning the event. He crossed the line with a personal-best time of 45.96, which was just .12 off the school mark of 45.84 set by Wade Payne Jr. in 1995.

WOMEN'S TRACK
- The 4x400m relay team of Wilson, Gaynor, Sanders and Samuels finished just three seconds off the school record and captured silver, logging a season-best time of 3:37.44
- In the 1500m, Brianna Samuels and Minka Isom finished 10th and 11th, respectively, with times of 5:05.28 and 5:05.69
- Samuels also competed in the 800m, running 2:19.81 to claim seventh
- Shelby Sanders recorded a fifth-play finish in the 400m hurdles, with a personal-best time of 1:00.49

- In the discus, Leah Brown placed sixth, recording a distance of 43.75m
- Akira Coleman finished ninth in the triple jump, with a mark of 12.05m

MEN'S TRACK
- The 4x100m relay team of Joe Quez Keith, Sherman Lattimore, Jahson Gordon and Kayden Washington logged a time of 41.83 to place eighth
- In the 4x400m relay, the team of Korede Otusajo, Nathan Anderson, Lattimore and Kody Pugh finished eighth, recording a time of 3:16.97
- Keith also finished eighth in the 200m finals, posting a time of 22.49
- Anderson earned the bronze in the 400m hurdles, logging a time of 52.97
- In the 1500m, Eric Brannon posted a personal-best time of 4:02.99 to claim fifth, while teammate Juan Osorio was eighth, with a time of 4:10.03
- Brannon posted a personal-best time of 16:24.42 to finish eighth in the 5000m, while Osorio placed ninth in 16:49.31
